Class Donations

All donations go towards the material and tools needed for each class. I hold classes for veterans, First Responders, and youth at no expense to them. With your help, I’ll be able to schedule these classes more frequently. Check out the events page for more information on the next class. Please contact me for more information and scheduling.

If you’re interested in regular donation, please check out my Patreon Page (link available in the page menu). There you can sign up for a monthly subscription where you’ll be eligible for giveaways, contests, and behind the scenes content for the all things made in the forge.

BLADESMITH THERAPY

The actual term "Bladesmith Therapy" was coined in 2013 by an active duty US Army Sergeant Nate Bocker. Nate believed sharing the craft that he loved with fellow veterans would give them a sense of accomplishment and a craft that they could use later in life if they so choose.

I couldn't agree more! I recognize that these brave individuals put themselves in harms way to protect the freedoms that I and others have. At Black Hog Knives, I share my love of bladesmithing with veterans in hopes that I can show my appreciation for what they have sacrificed.

If you are veteran interested in learning this craft, looking for a sense of accomplishment and release from the day to day. Please contact me and lets make it happen.

Wounded Warrior Project Participants

WWP

The 2019 Wounded Warrior Weekend. I had the pleasure of spending my Saturday with these veterans. Forging knives and swapping stories. This was a great day for me as I have always wanted to partner up with WWP and hold a class with some of their members. Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to the next one!

Donation Knife for Project M.I.K.E

TAPS

In the spring on 2020 a group of artisans and I got together and started Project M.I.K.E. Makers Inspiring Kindness and Empathy. We pick random organizations to donate pieces for auction and help raise funds for good causes. The Chef's knife pictured was forged and donated to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). TAPS offers comfort, care, and resources to all those grieving the death of a military loved one. If you would like to learn more, please visit www.TAPS.org
